Annapolis Maryland

We were staying at Andrews AFB and had several days of rain. Finely, on the days that it looked like it would clear up a little, we had to get out and see a few things. We went to Annapolis, MD and spent the day, it was sprinkling a little during the day, but we went anyhow. This is a beautiful old town, and port.

We went on a one hour boat tour on the Spa Creek and saw all of the beautiful yachts and homes. It was afternoon when we got here to Annapolis, so will have to come back another day to see the naval academy.

We came back to Annapolis to visit the Naval Academy. It was graduation week, and of course there were lots of people, family members and friends of the graduates. This is a huge accomplishment for these young people.

We enjoyed being here, and we were glad that it was graduation week, the cadets were so proud of what they had accomplished, and excited about their future lives in the Navy or Marines that is just beginning. The graduation was on Thursday and of course President Obama was speaking, and Jack McCain (John McCain's son) was one of the graduates. We were there on Tuesday, so it was not too crowded yet.
We have moved to Fort Meade now and have spent a couple of days in Washington DC so far, while we were still at Andrews. It has been raining again, so were waiting a few days before we go back to DC to see all of the things we missed the first time. We will spend a few more days visiting Washington DC area before we continue on our trip toward Pennsylvania. Lots to see !!
